Another festival

Such an important day! 20 years of independence, my brother's 57th birthday and the Emajõe festival.
Nobody can claim that summers in Tartu when uni students are on their holiday are boring! This summer we have had even more events than ever, several of them international.

Aug 19-20 is the Emajõe Festival + the annual Brass bands festival. The weather though isn't very friendly. It was raining in the morning when there was a fishing competition and old boats' show on the river. Although tens of fishermen were probably in their usual conditions.
I felt sorry for the orchestrants because of the lack of audience. Few brave citizens and surprised tourists only listening to them. The bravest ones went dancing in front of the stage!

I would have enjoyed more but I have a work to do - a presentation for the EATE conference which I have postponed as long as I could but now I have to finish it because the conference is on 23-24 already.

Every free moment I spend reading The King's Speech, it is much more informative than the splendid film was. I had an English copy in the library but I couldn't purchase it for myself and finally I bought the translation into Estonian not to be rid of any. Not the best interpretattion unfortunately. I'll try in e-shops again.
